PAL Mabuhay Miles golf set in Wack Wack

Top business executives and frequent flyers from Manila and the world over take to the fairways once again, this time at the historic Wack Wack Golf and Country Club for the 2002 Mabuhay Miles Elite Invitational Golf Tournament on Nov. 8.

Organized by Philippine Airlines’ Mabuhay Miles for its most frequent travelers, the tournament is actually the 10th edition of what was once called the Mabuhay Club Invitational Golf Tournament.

The tournament has been renamed in keeping with the recent launch of the airline’s world class frequent flyer program, Mabuhay Miles.

Exclusive to PAL’s most preferred passengers, the tournament continues to promote camaraderie and esprit-de-corps among its Mabuhay Miles Elite and Mabuhay Miles Premier Elite members.

Bones Floro will be defending the title he captured last year at the Eagle Ridge. This time, Floro will be playing on home grounds as he is the golf director of Wack Wack.

Play will be on both championship layouts of Wack Wack. The men’s A and B classes will slug it out at the historic and tougher East course while the C and D and the Ladies Divisions will play at the more modern West course.

The 18-hole tournament, as in past tournments, will be played under the System 36 handicapping format. Overall low net and low gross champions and class winners and runners up will be declared. A fellowship immediately follows, where artists will surely delight the crowd as valuable prizes such as airline tickets and premium merchandise items are at staked.

Singapore Petroleum Co. and HSBC and minor sponsors Boysen Paints, Department of Tourism/Philippine Convention and Visitors Corp., Nestle Philippines Inc., Pagcor/Casino Filipino, Spring and Subic Bay Distribution Inc.
