Bingo compounds Hapee's woes

Bingo Pilipino bucked a sloppy start and pulled off a 77-62 win over Hapee Toothpaste yesterday in the 2000 PBL Chairman's Cup eliminations at the Makati Coliseum.

Jerome Barbosa scored 18 points while Jun Jabar and Jun Canoneo fired 17 points apiece for the Bingonaryos who made a big run in the third quarter en route to their fourth straight win and their fifth in nine games in all.

Bingo Pilipino sent Hapee Toothpaste on the brink of elimination by handing the team its sixth loss against a lone win.

Hapee Toothpaste seized the initiative at the start, taking a 24-19 lead in the first quarter and bringing a 39-38 edge into the final half.

However, the Bingonaryos got their game going coming off the halftime huddle, going to Barbosa, Jabar and Canoneo on the offensive end as they surge ahead at 60-44 at the end of the third quarter.
