Coronation ng Miss Universe Philippines sa Baguio, walang puwedeng manood

Malaking tulong para mas lalong ma-boost ang turismo ng Benguet ang pag-stage doon ng 2020 Miss Universe Philippines.

Dahil sa ingay na ililikha ng MUP, makakaengganyo ito sa mga turista na muling mamasyal sa naturang lugar pagkatapos ng ilang buwang quarantine dulot ng COVID-19 pandemic.

Lahat daw ng candidates at staff ng MUP ay dumaan sa testing at quarantine bago dumating ng Benguet. ‘Yung mga nag-test positive ay hindi pinayagang mag-compete tulad ni Miss Sorsogon at Miss Cagayan De Oro.

Para sa safety ng nakakarami, hindi open sa publiko ang mga scheduled pre-pageant event at mapapanood na lang ito sa YouTube channel ng MUP.

Ang Grand Coronation ay magaganap bukas October 23, 2020 sa Baguio Country Club Cordillera Convention Hall. Mapapanood ito sa GMA 7 on October 25.

Winwyn, mas pinili ang talino kesa ganda

Kahit na isang independent woman na si Winwyn Marquez, nananatili pa rin daw itong daddy’s girl sa kanyang amang si Joey Marquez.

Lagi raw nakikinig si Wyn sa mga payo ni Daddy Joey, lalo na pagdating sa personal decisions na dapat niyang pinag-iisipan ng mabuti.

Sa kanyang Instagram, pinost ng former Reina Hispanoamericana ang advice ng kanyang Daddy Joey: “Never-ending paalala of Tsong (Joey) to my siblings and me: Never settle for less. I will always be your ninja girl… don’t worry about the weights and my training, okay?” caption pa niya.

Naikuwento rin ni Wyn ang natutunan niya sa kanyang ama na “beauty is nothing without intelligence.”

“You know, in showbiz maraming magaganda talaga, so ang hirap din na hindi ka ma-insecure. But at the same time, kung alam mo ‘yung ginagawa mo, you’re smart with your decisions, and you’re comfortable on your own skin… dedma! Sinasabi ng dad ko, ‘If they say you’re ugly or if they say hindi ka para diyan (sa showbiz)... dedma! You’re smart.’ So, I’d rather be smart than just be beautiful,” diin pa ni Wyn.

Hollywood veteran actor, kumpirmadong may cancer

Kinumpirma ng veteran Hollywood actor at Oscar winner na si Jeff Bridges na na-diagnose siya with lymphoma.

Ayon sa Mayo Clinic, “Lymphoma is cancer that begins in lymphocytes, white blood cells that are part of the body’s immune system and are found in the lymph nodes, spleen, thymus, bone marrow and other parts of the body.”

Sa Twitter account ng 70-year old actor, ito ang kanyang pinost:

“I have been diagnosed with Lymphoma. Although it is a serious
disease, I feel fortunate that I have a great team of doctors and the prognosis is good. I’m starting treatment and will keep you posted on my recovery. I’m profoundly grateful for the love and support from my family and friends. Thank you for your prayers and well wishes. And, while I have you, please remember to go vote. Si Jeff ay anak ng veteran actors na sina Lloyd Bridges at Dorothy Simpson. Kapatid niya ang aktor na si Beau Bridges.

Sa kanyang 50-year acting career na-nominate siya sa Academy Award ng pitong beses at nanalo siya ng Best Actor for Crazy Heart in 2009.
