Bossing ng GMA-7 binantaan ang mga talent agencies!

“Mabait” ang predictable impression ni Grace kay Kris dahil alangan naman na sabihin niya na hindi mabait ang presidential sister.

SCENE: May memorandum na inilabas ang opisina ni Atty. Felipe Gozon para sa mga artista at ta­lent ng GMA Network, Inc. tungkol sa isyu na kinasasangkutan ng ICONS Talent Management Agency na pinamumunuan ng ex ni Jolina Magdangal na si Bebong Muñoz.

Narito ang buong memo:

Many gossips and rumors have been reaching me anonymously from ‘‘concerned’’ persons and artists to the effect that certain officer(s)/consultant(s) of GMA-7 have been allegedly talking with GMA-7 artists/ta-lents to persuade them to enter into management/co-management contracts with ICONS in order to give or in exchange for giving them more exposure in GMA-7 programs, etc.

Further, a recent anonymous letter even claims that ICONS will charge the said artists/talents 15% agency fee in addition to the 25% fee that GMA Artist Center (Talent Development and Management Department) charges them and that it is Arsi Baltazar of TDMD that allegedly acts as the go-between the alleged GMA-7 officer/consultant and the artists/talents.

To set the records straight once and for all, we catego­rically state that NO ONE has been authorized by GMA-7 to make any such offers — whether expressly or impliedly and directly or indirectly — to any artist/talent whether presently under contract with GMA-7 or not. And if any such promise or commitment has been, is or will be made by ANY OFFICER OR EMPLOYEE of GMA-7, the same will not be honored or complied with by GMA-7.

It is the POLICY of GMA 7 — which is consistently observed and applied — to treat all its talents/artists fairly without bias and partiality in so far as practicable. Its exclusive talents/artists and those under its exclusive management (or under co-management as distinguished from those whose not managed) are given pre-ference when other valid considerations such as popularity, ac­ting ability, suitability to the role/assignment, etc., are substantially equal.

Further, GMA-7 has a Talent Committee which is composed of officers who have something to do with the management, deve-lop­ment, choice, casting and assignment etc. of artists/talents that recommends artists/talents to top management. The final choice and assignment of artists/talents are made by the Program Committee which I chair.

The artists/talents exclusively managed or co-managed by ICONS are and will be treated in the SAME manner (no more and no less) that GMA-7 treats the talents/artists exclusively managed or co-managed by other talent managers.

It is hoped that with the above categorical clarification the said anonymous gossips and rumors — even if continued for reasons known only to those who spread the same — will not be believed and given short shrift by all who may be concerned.
