MANILA, Philippines — Dahil sa banta pa rin ng COVID-19 ay target na ipagbawal ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang harapang pangangampanya sa Mayo 2022 elections.

Siniguro naman ni Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez na magkakaroon talaga ng “change in the campaigning landscape” sa darating na mga eleksyon.

“Activities, like gi­ving out materials or going out or talking to people face-to-face for campaign purposes — that’s gonna change. Door-to-door campaigns might be prohibited,” aniya.

Habang hindi pa ito opisyal, makikipag-ugnayan sila sa Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emer­ging Infectious Diseases ukol sa isyu.

Nangangahulugan ito na maaaring sa online campaigning na lang umasa ang mga politiko sa pa­ngangampanya, ayon pa sa tagapagsalita.

Hindi naman pupwede na pahabain pa ang mga tv at radio political ads dahil kinakailangan ng pag-amyenda sa batas para mapayagan ito.
