Slaughter puwede pa sa Gilas
MANILA, Philippines — Bukas pa ang pinto para kay Greg Slaughter para mapasama sa Gilas Pilipinas final line-up na sasabak sa 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
Subalit ito ay kung mapapatunayan niyang handa at 100 porsiyento nang magaling mula sa injury, ayon kay Ginebra at Gilas coach Tim Cone.
Nakatakda ang basketball competition sa Disyembre 3-11 sa MOA Arena sa Pasay City.
“If he can show us he’s 100 percent, then we will think about making a change at the managers’ meeting and including him at that point.,” sabi ni Cone kay Slaughter. “But he has to prove he’s healthy and that thumb has full range of motion.
Nadale ng thumb injury si Slaughter na siyang dahilan kaya hindi siya nakasama sa pagsasanay ng Nationals gayundin ng Gin Kings.
Subalit nakabalik na kamakalawa si Slaughter bagama’t limitadong playing time lamang kung saan siya tumipa ng 5 points at 5 rebounds sa 100-97 panalo ng Ginebra laban sa San Miguel kamakalawa.
“Right now he’s still 60, 70 percent. He’ll join us in practices and we’ll have an opportunity. If there’s an injury or something, we’ll stil make changes at the managers’ meeting the day before the tournament proper,” wika ni Cone. “But there still could be changes, especially depending on how people feel after the quarterfinals.”
Kasama ni Slaughter sina Scottie Thompson at Art Dela Cruz sa inalis sa 15-man pool.
