Hindi pumayag ang very feisty actress na si Divina Valencia na pintas-pintasan siya ng veteran production designer na si Ben Payumo sa kanyang outfit nang tanggapin ang Icon Award sa The 5th Eddys last Sunday na ginanap sa Metropolitan Theater.
“Divine’s dress is not so pleasing to the eye, parang Duster or Maternity dress. Get a wardrobe consultant, Miss D. This is not to offend. Congrats...,” unang comment ni Ben Payumo.
Sumagot ang veteran actress : “Benjamin Payumo. Ty but I have hundreds of wardrobe to use in any event, my dear. My consultant is Icon designer Oskar Peralta. U can ask him. Wala akong mapiling isuot dahil ako’y tumaba...
“Oo, parang duster sabi mo... Gawin nating salitang parang housedress (much better my dear). Tumaba ako...
“Iyang suot ko, binili ko sa America. May kamahalan. Tingnan mong mabuti, kapatid... Hindi duster o housedress.
“Evening dress ito Sa idad tumaba
“Matuto ka sanang tumingin nang di ka ma-boooo.
“Mata mo linawan mo. Booooo.”
Pero sumagot ulit ang designer : “Sorry kung na- offend kita. Sabi ko PARANG DUSTER lang. Malinaw pa mata ko. Alam ko marami kang pera. Nagalit ka, huwag. Favorite pa naman kita noon. Ayaw kong ma- boooo.
“Let’s just call a spade as a spade!

‘Di pa natapos doon ang sagutan ng dalawa : “Sabi mo kasi not pleasing to d eye. We have two eyes that see and read. Next time wag ka na lang mag-comment... Talagang not pleasing to read ur comment. Wala ka namang alam sa fashion ngayon...,” hirit pa ni tita Divina.
“Benjamin Payumo, If I’m not mistaken, you were into garments before so you understand what style means? OK, Mr. Payumo - I always please myself in dressing up. Iba na ang katawan na pina- pantasya noon at ngayon e balyena na si DV. Kaya kung para sa iyo ay hindi tama ang suot ko nung gabing I received my Citation/ Award, salamat kung para sa iyo it’s not appropriate for the occasion... Thanks for that pero maligaya ako sa damit na I was wearing that night. Wala akong pakialam kung tama o pangit. Ang importante - I was decently dressed up cuz I respect myself in comfortable and expensive fabric that I bought from the US. I love it and I feel so beautifully dressed up for my GREAT HONOR they bestowed to me as an actress, not in fashion industry! I Always consistently dress up to please myself not for your help but for my dearest self, kaya ingat ka lang !!!!!!”
