MANILA, Philippines (Update 1, 12:18 p.m.) — Hinirang bilang kampeon sa Miss Universe 2020 ang kandidata mula sa bansang Mexico matapos ianunsyo ang mga pinal na resulta ngayong araw.
Iuuwi ng 26-anyos na si Andrea Meza mula Chihuahua City ang korona ngayong taon matapos mangibabaw sa 74 kandidata mula sa iba't ibang panig ng mundo, Lunes.

Narito ang naging winning answer ni Meza matapos tanungin sa Q&A portion ng "If you were the leader of your country, how would you have handled COVID-19 pandemic?"
Meza: "I believe there's not a perfect way to handle this for situations, such as COVID-19. However, I believe that what I would have done was create a lockdown even before everything was that big. Because we lost so many lives and we cannot afford that, we have to take care of our people. That's why I would have taken care of them since the beginning."

Sinundan naman si Meza ng mga sumusunod na kandidata para itanghal na runners-up:
- 1st runner-up: (Julia Gama, Brazil)
- 2nd runner-up: (Janick Maceta, Peru)
- 3rd runner-up: (Adline Castelino, India)
- 4th runner-up: (Kimberly Jiménez, Dominican Republic)
Nakuha naman ng sumusunod ang mga special awards:
- Best national costume: (Thuzar Wint Lwin, Myanmar)
- Impact award: (Lenka Nemer, Bolivia)
- Carnival spirit award: (Kimberly Jiménez, Dominican Republic)
Sa kasawiang palad, hindi nakapasok sa top 10 ang pambato ng Pilipinas na si Rabiya Mateo bagama't nakasungkit ng pwesto sa top 21 finalists.
"We live in a society that more and more is more than advanced. As we advance in society, we've also advanced with stereotypes. Nowadays, beauty isn't only the way we look," wika pa ni Andrea sa kanyang final statement pagdating sa pagbabago ng pamantayan ng kagandahan.
"For me, beauty radiates not only in our skin but in our hearts and the way that we conduct ourselves. Never permit someone to tell you that you're not valuable."
Matatandaang taong 2020 pa dapat ginanap ang nasabing patimpalak ngunit ipinagpaliban patungong Mayo 2021 dahil na rin sa pagputok ng coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
