Ferrer kasama na sa Gilas pool

MANILA, Philippines – Idinagdag ang amateur standout na si Kevin Ferrer sa Gilas Pilipinas pool na inihahanda para sumabak sa 2016 Olympic world-qualifying tourney.

Dumalo ang 6-foot-4 gunner, nakumpleto ang kanyang collegiate stint sa UST Tigers, sa Gilas practice noong Lunes ng gabi sa Meralco Gym sa Pasig.

Nauna nang sumama ang amateur hotshots na si Kiefer Ravena ng Ateneo sa ensayo ng Gilas.

Sina Ravena at Ferrer ay kapwa naglaro para sa Gilas cadet team sa nakaraang SEABA championship at sa Southeast Asian Games.

Naging susi sina Ra­vena at Ferrer, kasama sina TNT rookies Moala Tautuaa at Troy Rosario, sa pagsikwat ng Team Phl sa gold medal ng nakaarang SEA Games sa Singapore sa ilalim ni coach Tab Baldwin.

Nakumpleto ang ka­nilang final year of eligibility sa UAAP,  inaasahang ma­ngunguna sina Ra­vena at Ferrer sa 2016 PBA Rookie Draft.

“I feel so good. I just used to watch these idols of mine. Now I’m privileged to work out with them,” sabi ni Ferrer. “They’re all nice to me and very supportive. I’m sure I will learn a lot from them.”

Nangako si Ferrer na hindi niya pakakawalan ang tsansang mapabilang sa Gilas.

“I’m already here. So I might as well give my best. Of course, I dream to make the final lineup,” ani Ferrer.

Ilan sa kanyang makakalaban sa puwesto ay sina Gabe Norwood, Jeff Chan, Marcio Lassiter, Matt Ganuelas-Rosser at Ryan Reyes.
