SMC pinalakas pa ang kanilang sustainability efforts nationwide

MANILA, Philippines — Ipupursige ng San Miguel Corporation ang kanilang sustainability efforts sa buong bansa sa pamamagitan ng kanilang mga subsidiaries kagaya ng rehabilitation at coastal development plan ng Petron Corporation para sa Sarangani Bay Protected Seascape.

Ito ay sa kabila ng kanilang limitasyon dulot ng kinakaharap na pandemya, ayon kay SMC president Ramon S. Ang.

“While our most recent sustainability efforts are massive in scale andare perceived to have bigger impact, there are also many environmental programs across the San Miguel group that are consistently being implemented with the help of our employee-volunteers, partner

organizations, and local and national government agencies through the years,” sabi ni Ang.

Kasama sa mga tinutukoy ni Ang ay ang pagtatanim ng SMC Global Power Holdings ng 1.1 milyong puno sa walong probinsya ngayong taon, ang P1-billion Tullahan River cleanup at ang P2-billion Pasig River rehabilitation.

Ang nasabing pagtatanim ng puno ng San Miguel Global Power Holdings ay bahagi ng mas malaking programang tinatawag na 747 Project.

Hangad nitong makapagtanim na pitong milyong puno sa 4,000 ektaryang lupa sa pitong probinsya.

Sa ilalim ng kanilang Trees Brew Life program, plano ng San Miguel Brewery Inc. na magtanim na 66,000 puno ngayong taon kung saan ang 60,000 mangrove propagules ay itatanim sa Carmen Mangrove Development program sa Carmen at iba pang lugar sa Cebu. Bacolod City at Tagoloan City sa Misamis Oriental.
