MANILA, Philippines — Pinalawig ng San Miguel Corporation’s (SMC) ang kanilang libreng toll privilege at fuel subsidy para sa mga medical frontliners na humaharap sa COVID-19 pandemic.
Nagsimula ang nasabing free toll program ng SMC para sa mga medical frontiners sa kasagsagan ng Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) noong Marso kung saan umabot na ito sa P53.49 milyon.
Tiniyak ni SMC president at chief operating officer Ramon S. Ang na ipagpapatuloy nila ang nasabing programa para sa medical community.
“The sense of gratitude we have for the sacrifices and heroism of our medical front liners remains as deep and strong as it has ever been. They are our modern-day heroes,” wika ni Ang.
“We’ve continued this program because we want to at least provide them some measure of relief and show them our support. We will continue to help them any way we can,” dagdag pa nito. Halos 9,260 medical frontliners ang kumuha ng libreng toll RFID stickers na maaaring gamitin sa lahat ng mga SMC Infrastructure-operated expressways kagaya ng STAR Tollway, South Luzon Expressway, the Skyway system, NAIA Expressway at saTarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway.
Bukod sa free toll program, nagbigay din ang SMC sa pamamagitan ng kanilang subsidiaries na SMC Infrastructure at Petron Corp. ng free fuel sa Libreng Sakay programs ng Department of Transportation (DoTR) at Metro Manila Development Authority.
