7.6% paglago ng ekonomiya itataas pa
MANILA, Philippines — Nagpahayag ng lubos na kagalakan si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. nitong Biyernes sa 7.6 porsiyentong taunang paglago ng bansa noong 2022, na idiniin ang pangunahing layunin ng kanyang administrasyon ay upang makaakit ng mga dayuhang pamumuhunan sa pagpapanatili ng naturang rate ng paglago at pag-unlad.
“We are happy to receive the news that our growth rate for the year 2022 exceeded all expectations even by the estimates of the international financing institutions and we are holding at 7.6 percent,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
“However, for 2023, we still have the problem of inflation which means there is still a problem of certain sectors of society and of the economy, who have yet to enjoy the benefits of that growth. And that’s why inflation is something that we are attending to,” diin pa ng Pangulo.
Sinabi ng Pangulo na inaasahan na ng kanyang administrasyon na sa pagtatapos ng 2nd quarter, bababa na ang inflation rate, lalo na sa mga produktong agrikultural.
Nagpahayag ng optimismo ang chief executive na bababa sa 4 percent ang inflation rate ng bansa sa 3rd o 4th quarter ng taong ito, ayon sa pagtataya ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).
“We must maintain, however, that growth rate and that is why it has become so important for us to go out and to attract investment into the Philippines because that is the only way for economic activity to increase and therefore to grow the economy,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos.
“So, I think that we are headed in the right direction. We still have some interventions that we will have to apply. But nonetheless, we are weathering the shocks on the international economic situation and we are starting to see that the economy is moving in the correct direction,” paliwanag ng Pangulo.
Iniulat ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) noong Huwebes na ang Pilipinas ay nag-post ng 7.6 porsiyentong buong taon na paglago noong 2022, ang pinakamataas sa loob ng 46 na taon mula nang magtala ang bansa ng 8.8 porsiyentong paglago noong 1976.
Ang Philippine Gross Domestic Product (GDP) ay nag-post ng paglago ng 7.2 percent sa 4th quarter ng 2022, na nagresulta sa 7.6 percent full-year growth, sinabi ng PSA sa ulat nito.
