State of calamity sa COVID-19, palawigin – DOH

Ludy Bermudo - Pilipino Star Ngayon

MANILA, Philippines — Kailangang mapalawig ang state of calamity sa COVID-19 para maipagpatuloy ang pandemic response sa bansa, ayon sa Department of Health (DOH).

Sinabi ni DOH Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire na hihingi sila ng extension ng state of calamity ng hindi bababa sa isa o dalawang buwan, kung hindi maisasabatas ang Center for Disease Control (CDC) bill bago matapos ang taon.

Gayunman, sakaling maisabatas na ang CDC bill, hindi na kailangan ang pagpapalawig sa state of calamity.

“Right now, the state of calamity is there simply because of these different considerations that we have like how we implement the emergency use authorization or EUA (for vaccines/medicines), how we launch our vaccination program for COVID-19, how we regulate the prices of commodities and goods during this time of the pandemic,”paliwanag niya.

Ang lahat aniya ng mga ito ay konektado sa state of calamity.

Una nang nagpahayag ang Private Hospital Association of the Philippines Inc. (PHAPI) na may pangangailangan na palawigin ang state of calamity kahit hanggang first quarter ng 2023.

Hanggang sa Disyembre 31, 2022 na lamang ang state of calamity ng COVID-19 pandemic nang palawigin ito ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
