MANILA, Philippines — Tiniyak ni Pangulong Duterte sa China na walang kinalaman o partisipasyon ang administrasyon nito sa pagsasampa ng reklamo laban kay Chinese President Xi Jinping sa International Criminal Court (ICC).

Ito ang ipinabatid ng Pangulo kay Chinese Communist Party’s Minister of the International Department Song Tao na nag-courtesy call sa Davao City.

“However, he said, the Philippines is a democratic country. Therefore, ‘we cannot stop people from just filing cases’,” wika ng Pangulo kay Song.

Napag-usapan din ng 2 lider ang mutual interest tulad ng trade, infrastructure development at South China Sea dispute.

Tiniyak naman ni Song na kung kakailanganin pa ng Pilipinas ang anumang assistance sa pagpapabuti sa kabuhayan ng mga Pilipino, nakahandang tumulong ang China.

“If there will be a need of assistance in improving the people’s lives, China is willing to help,” sabi ni Song.

Magugunitang naghain ng reklamo sa ICC sina ex-Foreign Secretary Albert del Rosario at former Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales laban kay Xi dahil sa crimes against humanity kaugnay sa planong pagkontrol sa resource-rich South China Sea.
