EASL Champions Week sa Japan na

MANILA, Philippines — Sa Japan na ngayon idadaos ang East Asia Super League (EASL) Champions Week sa Marso 1-5, 2023 mula sa orihinal na venue dito sa Pilipinas.

Utsunomiya at Ryukyu, bilang representatives ng Japan B. League, ang magsisilbing hosts ng EASL para sa group games habang sa Okinawa Stadium naman gaganapin ang playoffs kabilang na ang finals.

Isa rin sa venues ng 2023 FIBA World Cup ang Okinawa kasama ang Indonesia Arena pati ang Mall of Asia Arena, Smart Araneta Coliseum at Phi­lippine Arena dito sa bansa.

Kabuuang walong koponan ang lalahok sa inaugural season ng EASL bilang pinakabagong regional league sa Asya sa pangunguna ng 2022 Phi­lippine Cup champion San Miguel at runner-up Talk ‘N Text bilang kinatawan ng PBA.

Makakasama nila ang B. League champion Utsunomiya Brex at runner-up Ryukyu Golden Kings, champion Seoul SK Knights at runner-up Anyang KGC ng Korean Basketball League pati na ang P. League+ champion Taipei Fubon Braves ng Taiwan at Bay Area Dragons ng Greater China, na naglalaro bilang guest team sa PBA.

Nakataya sa Cham­pions Week ng EASL ang $250,000 na grand prize para sa kampeon habang $100,000 at $50,000 naman para sa first at second runner-up, ayon sa pagkakasunod.
