‘Di puwede ang scrimmages sa collegiate team trainings

MANILA, Philippines — Sakali mang payagan ang pagbabalik sa training ng college varsity sports sa gitna ng kinakaharap na coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic ay ipagbabawal pa rin ang mga team scrimmages.

Ito ang nakasaad sa inilabas na guidelines ng Technical Working Group (TWG) na binubuo ng Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Gaming and Amusement Board (GAB) at Department of Health (DOH).

“Training should be limited to body conditioning. Drills should only be limited to non-body contact drills, and should only be concentrated to individual skills development training,” sabi sa nasabing guidelines.

Kailangan ng mga student-athletes na may edad na 18 hanggang 21-anyos ang parental consent, habang ang mga nasa 18-anyos pababa ay makakalahok lamang sa isang virtual setting.

Kung papasok naman sa isang ‘bubble’ training ang mga student-athetes ay hindi na nilang kaila-ngang sumailalim sa swab test.

“No swab is required upon entry, as part of minimum public health standards,” wika ni DOH Head of Policy and Technology, Promotion and Communication Service Rodely Carza.

Ang nasabing guidelines ay ipapasa ng TWG sa Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) at sa sandaling aprubahan ay ibibigay naman ito sa mga paaralang gusto itong gamitin.
