Ayaw ni Arum ng judges na taga-Nevada sa Pacquiao-Bradley fight

MANILA, Philippines - Para maiwasan ang kontrobersya na nangyari noong Hunyo 9, 2012 ay humiling si promoter Bob Arum ng dalawang non-Nevada judges para sa rematch nina Filipino world eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao at world welterweight titlist Timothy Bradley, Jr. sa Abril 12 sa MGM Grand sa Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ginawa ni Arum ang kanyang kahilingan kay Francisco Aguilar, ang kasalukuyang director ng Nevada State Athletic Commission.

“There are no guarantees we’ll get the two neutral judges,” wika ni Arum ng Top Rank Promotions. “All we’ve done is asked the Nevada Commission for at least two of the judges to be from outside of Nevada and one to be local.”

Bagama’t malinaw na nangibabaw sa loob ng boxing ring, natalo pa rin si Pacquiao kay Bradley via split decision sa kanilang unang paghaharap noong Hunyo 9, 2012 sa MGM Grand.

Nagbigay sina judges Duane Ford at CJ Ross kay Bradley ng magkaparehong 115-113 iskor, samantalang tumanggap naman si Pacquiao ng 115-113 mula kay judge Jerry Roth.

Sinabi ni chief trainer Freddie Roach kay Pacquiao na pabagsakin si Bradley kapag naka-kita ng pagkakataon sa kanilang rematch.

“The thing is you can’t look for knockouts and we know that, that’s not how knockouts come,” wika ni Roach sa panayam ng On The Ropes Boxing Radio. “We are prepared to go out there and fight three minutes of every round and fight with combinations like he did against Rios and be a lot busier than he has been in the past.”
