Dahil sa patuloy na lumalabas na negative news kay Ellen, ang latest ay nang tawagin niya ang isang special child na “fat and stupid,” bumagsak ang ratings ng The Ellen DeGeneres Show for the first time in 17 years.
Despite the defense ng ilang celebrity friends ni Ellen, may ilang sponsors ng show ang bumitiw dahil ayaw nilang ma-associate sa isang TV host na bully at hindi totoo ang pinapakitang kindness sa harap ng kamera.

Noong nakaraang August 7 ay nanalong best actor sa 17th Asian Film Festival in Rome, Italy ang 19-year old indie actor na si Elijah Canlas para sa pelikulang Kalel, 15.
Ginampanan ni Elijah ang isang 15-year old na anak ng isang pari at na-diagnose na may HIV. Co-stars niya sa naturang indie film ay sina Jaclyn Jose and the late Eddie Garcia.
Dinirek ito ni Jun Lana at mabilis siyang nagpadala ng congratulations sa kanyang aktor na kasalukuyang kasama sa web series na Game Boys.
