Naglabas kahapon ng press statement si Pasig City House Representative Roman Romulo dahil ginagawan ng isyu at intriga ang pagiÂging ninang ni Janet Lim Napoles sa kasal nila ni Shalani Soledad noong January 2012.
Lumabas sa mga diyaryo at social media ang wedding photo nina Papa Roman at Shalani, kasama si Mama Jenny. May mga humusga kay Papa Roman, kahit walang basehan ang kanilang mga akusasyon.
Hindi naman puwede na basta manahimik si Papa Roman lalupa’t walang katotohanan ang mga bintang sa kanya.
Heto ang official statement ni Papa Roman tungkol sa pagkakadawit ng kanyang pangalan sa pork barrel issue:
“I take pride in the way my congressional office has cleanly endorsed all my Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) allocations in favor of legitimate projects and programs in my district,†Pasig City Rep. Roman Romulo said.
“Everybody is also free to check the Department of Budget and Management website, and see for themselves all the particulars of my PDAF allotments. My office has also never been mentioned in any adverse audit report.â€
Karugtong ng official statement ni Papa Roman ang explanation tungkol sa desisyon ng kanyang kampo na linawin ang puno’t dulo ng isyu:
“Romulo was responding to a front page photo published in The Philippine Star on Aug. 27. It was a file photo of Romulo and Shalani Soledad, together with their 22 wedding sponsors that included Janet Napoles, more than a year ago.
“While they were still dating, through entertainment industry social circles, Shalani was introduced to Napoles. The relationship with her was only social, nothing more.
“Romulo made it clear that at no time has he endorsed any NGO for the use of his PDAF allocation. As such, the congressman emphasized that no PDAF money has gone to any of the NGOs identified with Ms. Napoles through his office.
“Romulo stressed that focus should be the real issue the abuse and misuse of the PDAF by alleged public officials through fake NGO’s and ghost projects.
At katulad ng maraming tao, sinabi ni Papa Roman na ang guilty at dapat managot.
Shalani hindi judgmental
In fairness kay Shalani, never na nag-deny ito na magkakilala sila ni Mama Jenny.
Nakita pa nga sila na magkasama na kumakain sa isang five star hotel noong nag-uumpisa nang pumutok ang pork barrel controversy.
Hindi natakot si Shalani na makita na kasama siya ni Mama Jenny dahil hindi naman judgmental na tao ang asawa ni Papa Roman.
