MANILA, Philippines — Aarangkada ngayong hapon ang Philippine Basketball Association Season 43 Governors’ Cup tampok ang apat na koponang mag-uunahang makasungkit ng unang panalo sa Ynares Sports Center sa Antipolo.
Magtutuos ang Meralco at Columbian Dyip sa unang laro sa alas-4:30 kasunod ang engkuwentro ng NLEX at Talk ‘N Text Katropa sa alas-7 ng gabi.
Muling ipaparada ng Bolts si two-time Best Import Allen Durham na may averages na 25.4 points, 20 rebounds, 6.8 assists at 1.3 blocks noong nakaraang taon sa Governors’ Cup.
“He arrived 10 days ago so we are ready to go. We are looking to get off to a good start in this conference but we recognize that Columbian Dyip has the same goal, and we know that their import is also a good player,” ani Meralco coach Norman Black.
Makakatuwang ni Durham sina Baser Amer, KG Canaleta, Jarred Dillinger, Cliff Hodge at Ranidel De Ocampo sa pag-asang muling makatungtong sa finals ng kumperensiyang ito.
Magugunitang tumapos bilang runner-up ang Meralco sa 2017 Governors’ Cup matapos yumuko sa Barangay Ginebra, 3-4 sa best-of-seven championship series.
“Our goals are to continue to play solid defense while speedy up our pace offensively so that we can increase our point total,” ani pa ni Black.
Sa kabilang banda, kakaliskisan ang bagong Columbian Dyip coach na si Jon Cardel na siyang humalili sa nag-resign na si Ricky Dandan.
