MANILA, Philippines - Isang dating Commissioner ng Philippine Basketball League (PBL) ang tatayong bagong Commissioner para sa 74th University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) basketball tournament na didribol sa Hulyo 9 sa Araneta Coliseum.
Si Andy Jao ang siyang papalit kay Ato Badolato para sa naturang puwesto sa UAAP.
Si Jao ang kasalukuyang team consultant ng Rain or Shine sa Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
"In the PBL, I was also handling the day-to-day operations of the league and talking to the board of governors constantly,” wika ni Jao.
Ang unang aksyon ni Jao bilang UAAP Commissioner ay ang pagrerekomenda sa UAAP Board ng ilang eksperyensadong referees mula sa pool ng Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP).
"I intend to borrow from the Sonny Barrios of the SBP to include some his referees to officiate in the UAAP since we're implementing FIBA rules anyway,” ani Jao kay Barrios, ang SBP executive director. “Of course, I will ask permission of the board and I know they wouldn't deny me this request.”
