Sports personalities na yumao, kikilalanin sa PSA Awards Night

MANILA, Philippines - Ilang sports personalities na naging matagumpay sa kani-kanilang mga larangalan ang bibigyan ng tribute sa PSA-Coca-Cola Annual Awards Night sa Sabado sa Manila Hotel.

 Sina great golfer Celestino Tugot at dating FIDE president Florencio Campomanes ay dalawa lamang sa 11 individuals na pararangalan sa nasabing event mula sa pinakamatandang media organization.

 Ang iba pa ay ang mga kasamahan sa PSA na sina sports editors Dina Marie Villena, Willie Caballes at Emmanuel Perez de Tagle kasama sina photographer John Paulino, basketball players Ricardo `RicRic’ Marata, Cesar Jota at Valerio `Botchok’ delos Santos, race car driving champion Jose-Andre Bernard `Kookie’ Ramirez at track and field coach Francisco `Tatang’ De Vega.

 Ilang minutong pagdarasal ang gagawin rin ng sportswriting fraternity sa formal proceedings na inihahandog ng San Miguel Corp., the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Samsung, Accel, Nihao Mineral Resources International Inc., Harbour Centre, Philippine Amusements and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR), Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) at International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI).

 Si Campomanes ay itinaas rin sa PSA Hall of Fame kasama si celebrated pool icon Efren `Bata’ Reyes.

 Si pound-for-pound king at boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao ang magiging main speaker at guest of honor.

 Sina Asian Games gold medal winners Dennis Orcollo, Rey Saludar at Biboy Rivera at billiards Hall of Famer Francisco `Django’ Bustamante ang tatanggap ng 2010 PSA Athlete of the Year honor.

Sina Orcollo, Saludar at Rivera ang nag-uwi ng tatlong gold medals ng bansa sa 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, habang si Bustamante ang tinanghal na 2010 World 9-Ball Pool champion at tumapos bilang world’s no. 1 billiards player.

Dadalo rin sa awards night ang mga top personalities at sports officials na ki­nabibilangan nina Senator Chiz Escudero, Smart at PLDT chairman Manny V. Pangilinan, Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Jose `Peping’ Cojuangco, International Olympic Committee (IOC) representative to the Philippines Frank Elizalde at PSC chairman Ritchie Garcia.
