Chevron computer donation boosts Batangas e-blotter system

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The municipal police in San Pascual, Batangas recently reinforced its e-blotter system with the use of computers and printers donated by Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), marketer of the Caltex fuel and lubricants, and Chevron Holdings Inc. (CHI), a pioneer multi-functional shared services center, in partnership with the American Chamber Foundation Philippines Inc. (AmCham Foundation).

Using the computer units, police officers in San Pascual can now carry out a more seamless and secured documentation of crime reports.

The e-blotter system is part of the improved Crime Incident Reporting System (CIRS) of the Philippine National Police. Photo shows San Pascual, Batangas Senior Police Officer Renato Melecio demonstrating step-by-step how to document and access crime data reports in the e-blotter database.

“We used to store all subpoenas, warrant files, rogues gallery, and blotter records in just one computer. Thanks to Chevron, and the computers they donated, we can now store more files and transmit reports to our headquarters faster,” said Manuel Maligaya, police senior inspector, San Pascual municipal police.
