Celebrating outstanding entrepreneurship

Unlimited food and drinks in the company of fellow entrepreneurs was a fitting way to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Carousell sellers throughout 2021 at the Second Caroupreneur Awards.

Held at Niu by Vikings in Ortigas, the Caroupreneur Awards, first launched in Singapore last year and launched this year in Hong Kong and the Philippines, recognized the outstanding achievements of Carousellers over the past challenging year, ranging from entrepreneurs who started or scaled their businesses online, to brick-and-mortar retailers who digitalized their businesses, to everyday casual sellers who sold and gave away unused items for free.

The judging panel was made up of Carousell cofounder Marcus Tan, general manager of Carousell Philippines Djon Nacario, and vice president of Seller Success Operations Vishal Salunkhe, who assessed shortlisted sellers identified from their performance from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2021, together with a mix of qualitative and quantitative criteria, such as quality of listings, reviews, creativity and brand story.

Awarded plaques and certificates were Katherine Mae Cipriano, who won Year for Electronics; Mike Pacheo won for Property for Sale; Jerome Oyao Paragatos won for Men's Fashion; and Mark Pagent won for Home Services.
