Bring home a taste of Japan
There are many easy Japanese recipes that Filipinos can prepare and enjoy at home using authentic Japanese ingredients that are locally available. The Japan External Trade Organization or JETRO has made it their mission to promote Japanese food products through an event series called “Bringing Home a Taste of Japan.”
JETRO is a Japanese government-related organization that works to promote mutual trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world.
The first event, “Bring Home a Taste of Japan,” was held at The Seasons Residences Showroom in BGC. It showcased a cooking demonstration with chef Masaaki Ishikawa, followed by a tasting. He demonstrated how easy it was to create Japanese dishes in the comfort of your own kitchen using authentic Japanese ingredients. He created Kani Salad, Tamagoyaki, Onigiri, Temari Sushi, Salmon Rolls, and Cold Somen Noodles. The dishes were delicious and quite simple to make. Guests sipped cocktails made with Japanese spirits and liquors!
In line with its efforts to promote Japanese food and ingredients, JETRO has also launched the Japanese Food Supporter program. Restaurants that serve Japanese dishes prepared using ingredients sourced from Japan and retail stores that sell Japanese food products can apply for certification as Japanese Food Supporters. Certified Japanese Food Supporters will be able to display the Japanese Food Supporter logo at their establishments. This seal indicates that they use high-quality, safe, and trusted Japanese ingredients.
All the ingredients, condiments, and drinks at this event will soon be available at Mitsukoshi Fresh. Everyone, especially myself, is excited about the opening of this supermarket, where it will be easier than ever to obtain authentic ingredients to bring home a taste of Japan.
Mitsukoshi Fresh will not only have ingredients for Japanese food, they will also have a wide range of alcoholic beverages and beauty products.
Watch out for the opening of Mitsukoshi Fresh this year!

American Standard also unveiled new and innovative product designs to make life healthier and the home safe and more beautiful. The featured products included the Acacia Supasleek collection, DuoStix Hygiene Spray and Hand Shower, Touchless Sensor Toilets, EasySET Exposed, EasyFLO collection, and bathroom technologies such as the HygieneClean, CrystalSleek, ThinEdge, Aqua Ceramic, ComfortClean, Power Rim, and Double Vortex Flushing System.
