It was a fun evening as Chivas Regal Philippines hosted a blend of food, cocktails and music at Mazzo by Cicchetti, the newest rooftop bar in BGC. The bar, which serves scrumptious Italian bites, is run by the same people behind Belle & Dragon.

Mazzo managing director Indy Villalon said, “We’re happy to partner up with Chivas. Our goal is to serve fine quality cicchetti (small bites), which can be staples on their own, and at the same time, continue innovating our offering with the seasons.”

Guests enjoyed a food spread prepared by chef Allan Levanza, which consisted of chicken cacciatore, porcini trifolati cicchetti, prosciutto MozzaBalls and crispy testa. The dishes were paired with craft cocktails concocted by guest bartender Enzo Lim.

Chivas Regal, the luxury Scotch whisky known to be one of the pioneers of blended whisky, held an interactive session during which guests discovered the “Art of Blending” led by Chivas ambassador Hamish Houliston.

“We want to offer whisky lovers, and everyone who is interested, the opportunity to delve into the fascinating world of whisky. We have a lot of things planned this year that we’re very excited about. One of them is to really give our consumers not just a better understanding of the brand, but also to provide a full flavor experience,” Houliston said.

Beats from Abdel Aziz and Major Chie amidst the BGC skyline were a perfect way to cap the night.

Create new ways of living

As a self-confessed lover of all things Japanese, Kris Aquino joins Asvel in launching the brand and its first store in the country. 

During the launch, Kris shared her wonderful experience with the brand, led a bento-making demo using the brand’s best-selling items and shared baon ideas for her son Bimby. She also showed guests how to prepare a packed lunch to conveniently bring to the office and make a lovely meal using her favorite Asvel items.

Creating new ways of living gets exciting as the brand offers the best items for the home with Japan-standard quality and design like rice dispensers, lunchboxes, mugs, tumblers, pitchers, and more. Other items offered by the store include storage solutions like dish and utensil racks, airtight canisters, food drawers, oil and condiment pots and kitchen waste bins.

A scentsory experience

Well-loved Hong Kong brand Carroll&Chan recently opened its first store in the country and lifestyle enthusiasts couldn’t be any happier!

During the event, Billy Crawford and Coleen Garcia shared their experiences in creating a better home with the brand famous for its candles and home scents.

Spotted at the event were Bing Loyzaga with her daughters Chi and Gabs Gibbs, Pia Magalona, Joy Sotto, Issa Pressman and Gretchen Fullido.

Founder Ian Carroll said, “We are a truly sustainable brand, more than being able to provide scents and aesthetic design for homes and spaces.” Unlike other types of wax, beeswax poses no harm to the environment as no rainforests are cut down and no natural animal habitats are destroyed in the process.  Beeswax is sustainable and contains no toxins or other pollutants.

Coleen said, “Our pets are usually sensitive to fragrance, but for some reason, and we see this in our cats most especially — they are very comfortable whenever we light up our favorite Carroll&Chan candle.”

For a complete sensory experience, the brand’s beeswax candles are made with wooden wicks that produces a crackling sound when lit. They are poured by hand to ensure top quality and are adorned with unique and original hand-painted designs in the packaging.  These candles are handmade using traditional candle-making methods. 

The brand continues to grow with 25 fragrance collections, spread across a vast product range including beeswax candles, matching reed diffusers, fragrance oils and other home fragrance accessories.
