Feel French

It was a showcase of contemporary French fashion at the PhilFrance Fashion Week 2017 in SM Aura Premier, Taguig City.

The event highlighted the collection of designer Clivia Nobili in a fashion show and exhibit called Beau Travail at the mall’s atrium.

A joint project of the Embassy of France in the Philippines, in partnership with SM Aura Premier, the event was part of a year-long festival called  “PhilFrance: Feel French,” a celebration of 70 years of Franco-Philippine friendship.

Nobili’s fashion show highlighted Art de Vivre program of the “PhilFrance: Feel French” campaign, which is the art of living in a style that is distinctly French. The campaign is also a unique way to immerse oneself in the pleasures of gastronomy, fashion, culture and sports with family and friends.

Born in Paris, Clivia Nobili took evening classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York and was an assistant stylist for Charles Jourdan from 1994 to 1995. She was also a costume designer for films, TV series and did advertising materials for Peugeot, Décathlon, Renault, Premier Suspect and Marionnaud. She later became the designer of work wear for La Chassagnette restaurant, the Opéra de Lille, the Lille Grand Palais and Auchan Department Store.

Her latest collection Beau Travail (meaning “good job” or “good work”) aims to bring a revolutionary twist to corporate attire. The clothes in the collection are made of 100-percent cotton and cotton-linen with deep blue, rouge, gold and saffron as the color palette. The fashion show was well-attended by members of the diplomatic corps, fashion enthusiasts, designers and faculty and students of schools like the Fashion Institute of the Philippines and the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde School of Design and Arts.

The Beau Travail fashion show and exhibit is one of the many exciting fashion events at SM Aura Premier.
