A ball for a cause

The 39th Annual Consular Ball, probably the most important occasion in our diplomatic and consular calendar, was held recently at Makati Shangri-La Manila’s Rizal Ballroom.

We take our hats off to event chairperson and Monaco Consul General Fortune Ledesma and her co-chairs Gambia Consul Agnes Huibonhoa, US Consul General Donna Blair and Tanzania Consul Betty Ang for organizing the much-awaited affair.  This year, a good number of donors and sponsors made the evening a most exciting occasion with their immense support. 

Among the ball’s major donors that greatly contributed to the fund was CATS Motors Inc. represented by its president Felix Ang. All proceeds will go to the Consular Corps of the Philippines’ emergency relief and charitable projects. 

Meanwhile, outgoing Consular Corps of the Philippines dean and Eritrea Consul General Dr. George Yang gave the floor to the incoming dean, Japanese Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul General Tetsuro Amano.

As in previous years, the United States had the biggest delegation at the Consular Ball.
