Sabores de España
Spanish cuisine takes center stage once again as the premier five-star hotel in the Queen City of the South, Marco Polo Plaza Cebu (MPPC), launched the seventh installment of Sabores de España, one of the hotel’s well-loved culinary journeys.
Sumptuous dishes like Paella Valenciana, Gambas al ajillo, Mechado del campo and Leche frita were featured in this gastronomic event that definitely had the guests coming back for more. One of the affair’s highlights was the traditional slicing of the Jamon Serrano led by the guest of honor, Spanish Ambassador Jorge Domecq, with Spanish Honorary Consul Anton Perdices, MPPC resident manager Julie Najar and Cebu’s authority on Spanish cuisine, Gema Pido.
Congratulations to the brilliant MPPC general manager and Marco Polo Hotels, Philippines area general manager Hans Hauri and his team for this successful foodie event!
Songs for the lady
Ilocos Norte Rep. and lover of beauty Imelda Romualdez-Marcos turned a year older and celebrated her birthday at the well-appointed residence of Muebles Italiano president and chief executive officer Noel Gonzales and wife Eileen in Ayala Alabang.
It was a night filled with songs, cheers and laughter as the celebrator counted popular singers from here and abroad among her fabulous guests, the likes of Dulce with her husband Bernard Cruzeta, Anthony Castello, The Angelos, Lou Prince and, of course, Noel’s own son, 11-year-old musical genius Kris John Paul. Violinist Merjohn Lagaya, tenor Den Ramos, pop singer Peter Gonzales, Kaye, Pam and Matthew Ricarte gamely joined in the show and performed for the former first lady.
The memorable celebration was made possible through the joint efforts of Becky Garcia, Minerva Tanseco, Charo Yu, Cory Quirino and Noel and Eileen Gonzales.
A joyous birthday to you, Mrs. Marcos!
A special gathering for Small
The parties celebrating the birthday of educational entrepreneur Small Laude of Greenhills Learning Center always serve as occasions to bond with long-time friends from near and far.
This year, with her loving husband Philip and children PJ, Michael, Tim and Allison present, Small happily entertained her special guests that included Bench chairman and executive creative director Ben Chan, Ching Cruz, Vicky Zubiri, Gambia Consul Agnes Huibonhoa and Small’s sister Alice Eduardo.
The young mother of four was simply beautiful in her cocktail dress, which she adorned with a string of pearls and matching earrings as accessories. Dressed in matching blue, the Laude couple basked in the loving company of family and the best of friends.
May your blessings in life continue, Small!
