Making waves in Manila

MANILA, Philippines - Pinoy skateboarding fans got a treat recently when the Los Angeles-based brand Supra arrived in the country. Philgear International Inc., a member of the Primer Group of Companies, held a press conference at Dillinger’s 1903 Steak & Brew in Greenbelt, Makati to welcome the Supra team in Manila.

Skateboarding legends and entrepreneurs Erik Ellington and Stevie Williams headlined the brand’s Asian tour along with Neen Williams, Keelan Dadd, Boo Johnson, Kevin Romar, Mike Plumb (a.k.a. “Lizard King”) and Spencer Hamilton.

Supra Philippines brand manager Pepe Cervero said, “Manila is the fourth stop of the tour. The people behind it have been to Osaka, Tokyo and Taipei to promote Supra. They’re really excited to be here and they can’t wait to meet the local skateboarding community.”

After being introduced to the members of the press, the skaters each got a turn at the spotlight as host Issa Litton interviewed them.

Supra, founded in 2006 by long-time skater Angel Cabada, celebrates everything about the skateboarding culture. The brand is deeply rooted in skate and street style, as evidenced by its line of signature footwear that is made by skaters for skaters. It has established itself as the premier brand when it comes to skate and street fashion.
