Celebrating a milestone

It was a happy occasion when Concepcion Durables Inc. (Condura) marked its quarter-century milestone with the introduction of its new logo, a new look that signifies the new direction that the company will be taking as it steps out into the global market. From conquering the local arena, the proudly Pinoy wholly-owned subsidiary of Concepcion Industries, Inc. is now ready to show the rest of the world what it’s got.

Condura president and COO Ton Concepcion said, “Because of our focus and specialization, we have become the number one refrigerator brand in the Philippines and have successfully edged out our foreign competitors here in the country, so it’s only a matter of time before we can do the same abroad. In our generation, we can’t just think and confine ourselves within our borders.”

He added: “We must make our brand regional and global. All our Asian neighbors are growing fast, and it’s high time to jump in on the race. After all, we know that we have what it takes to compete globally.”

Condura vice chairman Renna Hechanova-Angeles said, “The company’s current success locally can be attributed to hands-on owner involvement, attention to detail and passion for excellence shared by everyone in the organization, as well as good product innovation as a result of investing P1 billion in research and development. Most of all, it is the consumer trust that got us to where we are. This can only be earned by delivering products of good quality and extending good after-sales support.”

Condura also launched two all-new lines of refrigerators designed specifically for those who want to use their refrigerators for business. The fifth generation Condura Negosyo series and the Negosyo Style series were rolled out on the catwalk as the Freestyle band performed in the background.

Not your ordinary swim gear

Rainy days are here. The season of sun is over.

One of the best memories of summer was the sizzling launch of Speedo’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection via a fashion show at Fort Bonifacio. A selection of swimwear and accessories had Play & Fun, Health & Well-being, Swim Fitness and Competitive ranges.

The Play & Fun collection targets leisure swimmers and includes beach sports staples. The Swim Fitness collection is for those who regularly swim to keep themselves fit. The Health & Well-being collection features products perfect for those who enjoy water-based activities. The seasonal range of the Competitive collection is inspired by world-class athletes and targets those who are working toward their goals in 2012.

The company launched a new innovation for which it has secured a full Fédération Internationale de Natation approval. Another world’s first concept in the sport of swimming, the Fastskin3 Racing System includes a cap, goggle and suit engineered to work together as one, offering a cohesive and hydrodynamic solution to cut through the water with maximum efficiency. Speedo Fastskin3 collection features three levels of technology: Super Elite for professional athletes, Elite for advanced competitors and Pro for intermediate swimmers.

Revolutionizing an active lifestyle

Recently, Oakley presented the latest in eyewear and fashion.

The brand featured Scope Machine, which allowed guests to see how Oakley’s High Definition Optics feature measures how lenses magnify images through a refractive power test. It offers the highest possible level of optical fidelity by virtually eliminating distortion caused by magnification. One also gets the unrivaled impact protection and 100 percent UV filtering of the purest lens material on earth. It offers Polarized, Hydrophobic, Photochromic and RX Sun lenses to give you eye protection that fits your active lifestyle.

The brand also featured its clothing and accessories for the sports enthusiasts who love the water. Its latest revolutionary design is the Blade II board shorts line, which takes advantage of O Stretch fabric with four-way stretch to liberate movement and eliminate chafing.

Oakley Golf apparel proves that comfort and craftsmanship are keys to playing a great game of golf. It also presented the lightest performance golf shoe in the world — Cipher. The first ever with NanoSpike technology, it allows your feet to be closer to the ground, ensuring better balance with a lower center of gravity.

Technology was one of the main highlights of the show as models made use of a conveyor belt to put focus on Oakley’s surf and golf wear. Bike riders showed off their skills on stage while wearing Oakley.
