Cebu recently played host to a world-class triathlon when the second leg of the Vaseline Men XTERRA Off-Road Triathlon Series was held in the resort town of Liloan.
Welcoming guests to Cebu were Gov. Gwen Garcia, Vice Gov.Agnes Magpale and Liloan Mayor Duke Frasco. Vaseline Men endorser Jericho Rosales led a group of celebrities who flew in to Cebu. Governor Garcia welcomed the delegation with a dinner at the Cebu International Convention Center.
Liloan’s scenery, rugged terrain and pristine beaches proved to be the perfect backdrop for the triathlon. Switzerland’s Renata Bucher and Australia’s Ben Allen ruled the women’s and men’s division, respectively. Filipinos Rochelle Tan and Neil Catiil showed their class in the Filipino Elite division by grabbing top honors in the female and male categories, respectively.
After the grueling swim-bike-run challenge, athletes and guests enjoyed skin cleansing and pampering massages to soothe tired muscles at the Vaseline Men tent.
