An intern-ally fun party

THE PEPPER MILL - Pepper Teehankee -

President and CEO of Pharex HealthCorp. Tomas Marcelo Agana III said: “This celebration gives our interns the opportunity not only to have fun but also to empower themselves as future doctors, as Pharex is committed to educate, enlighten and guide our young interns to become our good partners in providing better healthcare for Filipinos.”

Hosted by Y Speak’s Bianca Gonzalez, TJ Manotoc, Atom Araullo, Mo Twister and Xian Lim, the event opened with a dance medley of Michael Jackson’s famous hits by ASAP’s dance floor jock Gab Valenciano. Guests were also entertained by Kapamilya stars Jon Avila, Wendy Valdez, Cass Ponti, Niña Dolino, Duncan Ramos and a musical number from Sandwich.

The event’s highlight was the search for Alternative Pinoy Stars, where teams from the Philippine General Hospital, Chinese General Hospital, University of Perpetual Help-Biñan, AFP-V. Luna Memorial Hospital, Fort Bonifacio General Hospital, Medical City, Ospital ng Maynila, Far Eastern University, De La Salle University Cavite and the Department of Health battled it out to showcase out-of-the-box performances. Bagging the grand prize of P50,000 was the defending champion team of De La Salle University Cavite, followed by the Department of Health team who went home with P20,000 and the Fort Bonifacio General Hospital team who won P5,000.

Guests also enjoyed the special side events and treats like henna and glitter tattooing, roving magicians and photo booths, as well as freebies from event partners. Raffled prizes included watches, cellphones, iPods, PSPs, laptops and gift certificates.

The Pharex Grand Interns Night celebrated the talent of our future physicians and gave them a night of fun and entertainment that they deserved.

Happy birthday, Nivat!

Thai Airways’ well-liked GM Nivat Chantarachoti was given a surprise birthday party at Bistro Filipino at The Fort by his good friend and Star columnist Tim Yap.

Chef Rolando Laudico served mouhthwatering appetizers such as deep fried kangkong and kasoy empanaditas with bagoong dip and kilawin tuna for appetizers as guests waited for the birthday boy to arrive.

The main dining room was closed for the exclusive sit-down dinner which had salad, a choice of fish or meat for the main course and three small desserts. As Nivat walked in, he was clearly surprised at the gathering of his close friends and as the very cordial and proper person that he is, he even apologized for being late. It was a surprise and it wasn’t his fault after all! After the greetings and cake blowing, guests continued to drink and be merry to celebrate another birthday for the asset of Thai Airways.

Happy birthday, Nivat!
