The new entertainment mecca
Since it opened tons of restos and stores late last year, dahlings, the lush new Greenbelt has become the most popular lifestyle destination in our city. It has no doubt become Makati’s urban entertainment mecca.

Greenbelt held a grand coming-out bash a bright full moon ago, palanggas, when Ayala Land, Inc. threw a big celebration for its prime baby. As most Ayala affairs go, this one went all the way. Held at the beautiful main courtyard with the park’s lush centerpiece as take-off point, the super launch had "fairies" ushering invitees to a pre-summer night’s dream of music and loads of laughter. It was definitely a magical evening, dahlings.

This happening was clearly envisioned to echo Greenbelt 3’s many facets. The evening went from top-brass live entertainment by Jaya to the hit comic style of renowned Rex Navarrete to the jazzy music of Ugoy-Ugoy coupled with the bluesy vocals of Cookie Chua and dance music from Anton Ramos. Also featured were the more fantastical aerial dance by the team of Christine Van Loo and Sonny Brown who jetted in from the US especially for the event. Generous servings of sumptuous dishes from Greenbelt restos and an endless supply of wines and drinks completed the affair.

Naturellement,
Ayala’s mega hotshots and their families came in full Zobel force, palanggas: Mr. James Bond himself, Jaime Zobel de Ayala, Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala and wife Lizzie and their children, Fernando Zobel de Ayala and wife Kitkat, top ballerina Sofia Zobel and good-looking husband Patxi Elizalde, as well as Ayala Land’s super executive, Francisco Licuanan; Angela Lacson; Mercedita Nolledo; and Miriam Katigbak.

Rustan’s working socialite Nedy Tantoco, whose son, Store Specialist’s secret weapon Anton Huang is one of Ayala Land’s biggest clients, breezed in with her pack, constant escort Patrick Jacinto, Diana Jean Lopez and moi.

National Bookstore’s Fred and Presy Ramos didn’t come just to party, they watched their son Anton Ramos deejay later in the night. They also enjoyed the company of First District of Makati Rep. Teddyboy Locsin and la simpatica wife Louie Locsin; brains and business persona, Makati Business Club’s Bill Luz and his famille; and the entrepreneurial group of Yoya Tanseco, Reena Francisco and Chit Juan of Store Super and Figaro who came with Joaquin Zamora and Bi-Ann Tupas.

Overwhelmed over the flying fairies were Magnum’s Tita Trillo; renowned sculptor Claude Tayag of ABT Design and wife Maryann; Segafreddo’s Ernie Fajardo; Pineapple’s Anton Barretto; Sentro’s always with a smile Ricky Gutierrez; Hue and Pizza Express’ Melo Ortiz and Dean Dayao; Havana’s Lorna Ambas; bubbly, bubbly party organizer Angelette Calero; special events lady Gigi Bautista and hubby Manny; plus Peninsula Manila’s first couple, super eye-catching beauty Marilou Toda-B. and husband David Batchelor.

The magical night climaxed, dahlings, when Jaya sang El Debarge’s Rhythm of the Night with the "fairies" and aerialist performing behind her. Makati’s skyline was suddenly filled with wondrous fireworks, showering their light on everyone in Greenbelt. It was a sight to behold and an experience no one was likely to forget – a new Greenbelt experience, palanggas.
