MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Jejomar "Jojo" Binay and Sen. Gregorio "Gringo" Honasan were the first candidates for president and vice president, respectively, to file their certificates at the Commission on Elections on Monday.

Binay and Honasan, called the "Bin-Go" tandem, said their early appearance to pursue their bids in the 2016 elections was a testament to their political party UNA, or the United National Alliance.
