MANILA, Philippines – Julia Montes became a showbiz sensation with fellow young actress Kathryn Bernardo when they starred in the 2010 remake of the soap opera “Mara Clara.”

Now, Kathryn has achieved success as one-half of the KathNiel love team with actor Daniel Padilla.

Julia is aware people and fans are still comparing her with Kathryn but notes that there is no competition between them.

“’Yun ang proud akong sabihin, walang halong showbiz—talagang never pumasok sa amin 'yun. Talagang ang happy-happy ko kung nasaan siya ngayon,” she said.

Unlike Kathryn, Julia is not identified with one particular on-screen partner. She’s been paired up with Coco Martin in a number of TV shows, Enrique Gil in a 2013 soap opera and Gerald Anderson in a recent movie.

The 20-year-old star said she feels less pressure as an actress without a steady love team.

She added, “Lahat kami swerte sa kung nasaan kami ngayon kasi ang dami-daming talent… 'Yung thought lang na mabigyan ng project, sobra-sobra na.”

The actress talked to members of the press during the launch of “Doble Kara,” her upcoming ABS-CBN afternoon soap opera which will premiere on Monday, August 24.
