Sinabi pa ni Ressa na: “Salamat founded the Moro National Liberation Front, the MNLF, with Nur Misuari soon after martial law was declared in 1972, but in 1978, Salamat split from the MNLF. Although both were fighting for a separate Islamic State, they differed on how Islamic it would be. The MNLF was more secular; Salamat’s splinter group (later the MILF) wanted a state fully governed by the Koran and Islamic sharia law.” Ayun pa kay Ressa, sinabi daw ni Salamat na: “The most distinctive difference is that the MNLF recognized the Philippine Constitution and works under the Philippine government while the MILF does not recognize the Constitution of the Philippines and fights the government.”

The Peace adviser should revisit recent history so she can serve P-Noy more effectively. For all she knows, she may be coddling legions of fanatical Al Qaeda adherents. Sa mga sinabi ni Hashim Salamat tungkol sa MNLF ni Misuari, baka naman Deles should treat Misuari more as her man, instead of Murad.
