A polished arrow

ROSES AND THORNS - Pia Roces Morato - The Philippine Star

There is a saying that goes “ An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means it’s going to launch you back into something great.”

In one’s life journey, there are moments when we feel that no matter how hard we try, it just doesn’t seem like we are making any progress. Setback after setback, one crisis after another, all this tend to make us lose our motivation.

But like the pulling of an arrow where energies are aimed at what we may perceive as a setback is actually the process by which we become polished before a launch.

This is why it is important to keep focused and to continue laying the groundwork. Persistence after all is key and hard work pays off.

There is a gift that comes with adversity and that is the gift of strength. Strength is found within ourselves and the people that stand by us.

Challenging circumstances should never bring you to your knees for too long, because being dragged down or being held back is a sign that you are about to leap forward.

When we speak about action we fully understand, and thanks to Newton’s laws of motion, that there is an equal and opposite reaction to every activity or exertion.

This simply means that for every energy, every effort, every weight or every pressure, there is another force so equal in size but in the opposite direction.

An arrow literally flies forward after it is pulled backwards. All of us will time and time again be pulled backwards but it should not make us lose our hope, more so our focus.

Tough times are inevitable and it is important to never surrender but instead, just like an arrow, prepare to launch.
