PNoy is alone in not apologizing to HK!

SHOOTING STRAIGHT - Bobit S. Avila - The Freeman

For our special presentation on our talkshow Straight from the Sky, we are blessed that the famous healing priest Fr. Fernando Suarez agreed to be our special guest in order for us to get his story behind his remarkable priesthood. This interview was arranged courtesy of my good friend Jojo Alquisola, so we had this interview at his Penthouse Suite in Allure Hotel.

Fr. Suarez was at the ballroom of the Cebu Country Club last Jan.22 and it was jampacked with people who wanted to be healed. Indeed, seeing Fr. Suarez in action was a spiritual experience because, before our very eyes, he got a woman in a wheel chair to stand up and walk. He also held the hand of another woman who walked with a cane and as he released her hand, she walked…not with baby steps…but walked very fast without a cane. Of course, not everyone gets cured because it is not Fr. Suarez who heals those people but our Lord Jesus Christ himself. Fr. Suarez, as he openly admits, is a mere vessel of God.

This was an important question that we asked Fr. Suarez… whether or not his popularity might have affected him. But Fr. Suarez told me that he knows too well that he is an ordinary priest, who was blessed with a special gift of healing. But it is our Lord Jesus Christ who heals us, for as long as we have faith in God. Some people who may need healing do not get healed because of their unforgiveness or the hardening of their hearts. In short, to be healed, one must have a deep faith in God and a pure heart that has no room for hate.          So watch this very interesting interview with Fr. Suarez tonight on SkyCable’s Channel 61 at 8:00PM with replays on Wednesday and Saturday same time and channel and other replays on MyTV’s channel 30 M-W-F. Incidentally at the end of this show, I asked Fr. Suarez if he could do a healing on television and he told me that at one time he was on TV, he did a healing prayer and people who were watching were healed. So at the end of the interview, he gave us a healing prayer, which is a historic first for Straight from the Sky. We hope and pray that those who would watch this show and needed healing would witness the healing grace of God through Fr. Suarez.

It’s the Year of the Wooden Horse and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) finally made good it’s proposal, which they have already floated for months now, that they would require all Filipinos to secure a Hong Kong visa if they wished to visit the former Crown Colony. But at least, this time, they listened to the Filipino workers in Hong Kong… that their quarrel was not with the Filipino people, but the people in government.

So now, the Hong Kong government is requiring all Philippine government officials holding official passports to secure a visa before they are allowed entry into Hong Kong. This prompted three senators to ask Pres. Benigno “PNoy” Aquino, III to issue an apology to finally resolve this issue once and for all. But just like Pharaoh in ancient times, during the time of the bondage of the Israelites in Egypt, PNoy was unmoved and would never issue any apology.

Again we reiterate what we’ve said since the Year 2010, during the aftermath of the Quirino Grandstand hostage taking, which resulted in the untimely death of eight Hong Kong tourists… that their deaths were caused by that deranged Police Officer Rolando Mendoza. Since he is a government officer, the buck should have stopped at the Office of the President.

But then PNoy is intransigent. This President obviously doesn’t care if we break ties with Hong Kong as long as he won’t apologize for us Filipinos, who want him to apologize for that faux pas. This is one case that the President is all alone on this issue (except of course his yellow minions) and therefore, he no longer represents the sentiments of the Filipino people.

My family’s heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Mrs. Marie Cabatingan Manuel who passed away in Ormoc City last Jan.31. She was 87-years old. She is the aunt of my wife Jessica on her mother’s side. Tia Marie lived a fulfilled life, having lived in Bantayan Island, Cebu, Bacolod and finally in Ormoc City. She’s the widow of the late Tio Conquer Manuel who was an icon in the sugar industry. She was one auntie that we always welcomed because she was gregarious and so full of life. We used to play mahjong a lot and often played slots in the casino; and she loved the political scene in Ormoc.

Tia Marie is survived by her children all of  whom live in the United States. Her eldest is Consorcio “Don” Manuel, Jr., Maria Fatima “Manang Inda” Gage, Antonio “Bambie”, Mirla Palma, Franco “Sonny” and Filomena “Ging Ging” Skievaski. Her remains are at the St. Peter’s Funeral Parlor in Ormoc City and will be brought to Cebu this Thursday, Feb.6, and will be brought to the Rolling Hills Mortuary. On Saturday, Feb. 8, a Mass will be offered at 9:00AM in Rolling Hills where her cremation will follow. Her remains will be interred at the Alliance of Two Hearts Columbary.
