Netizens react to Manny Pacquiao's first privilege speech as senator
MANILA, Philippines - Philippine boxing icon Manny Pacquiao on Monday delivered his first privilege speech at the Senate.
Previous reports said the former eight-division world boxing champion and two-term congressman wrote the speech himself.
Like his privilege speech as a member of the House of Representatives, the newcomer spoke in Biblical tones about his intense religious belief and his political campaign against evil and immorality. He also mentioned how he is in favor of the death penalty for drug-related and other serious crimes.
"Manny Pacquiao" quickly became a trending topic on social media, with netizens who were able to listen to his speech airing their reactions on the microblogging site.
Sen. Pacquiao = Juan of all trades, master of one (boxing, definitely not Congress)

Watching Tito Sotto interpolate Manny Pacquiao is like watching two idiots solve a basic mathematical equation. One is just much older.

Senator Pacquiao, punitive measures are never answers to our problem. The government should be rehabilitative, not revengeful.
