VIRAL: Sisters give free water to EDSA commuters during INC rally

MANILA, Philippines - Amid the thousands of roaring Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) protesters in EDSA on August 30th, two girls handed out free water to pedestrians taking their torturous walks to their home.

Armed with placards, an estimated 1,700 members of the INC occupied Shaw Boulevard, causing a horrendous traffic jam in EDSA. Thousands of commuters were forced to deal with the heavy traffic while the group protested for the government's purported interference with their affairs.

While people were busy tweeting about the traffic disaster, two sisters thought of helping the pedestrians by doing an act of kindness.

In a post, Ela Florendo shared how she and her sister came up with this idea.

"Some people were already walking for 4 hours (I mean come on! 4 hours?) and there were also kids walking with their parents. We saw how badly they needed water," she said on her Facebook post.
