Pool legend Parica, snooker champ Manalo to grace PSA Forum
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum will have the honor to guest two Filipino former billiards champions during its Tuesday session, October 20, at the Philippine Sports Commission media room.
Pool legend Jose “Amang” Parica graces the public sports program for the first time as he’s currently in town to prepare for the staging of a billiards tournament in his honor slated next year.
The now 77-year-old player was inducted in the Billiards Congress of America Hall of Fame in 2014 and widely recognized as the first Filipino to break into the rich US pool circuit, long before fellow greats Efren ‘Bata’ Reyes and Francisco “Django” Bustamante made it big in America.
Parica will be coming over to the 11 a.m. session with one-time Asian snooker champion Marlon Manalo.
The Forum is presented by San Miguel Corporation, PSC, Philippine Olympic Committee, MILO, and the country’s 24/7 sports app ArenaPlus.
Livestreamed via the PSA Facebook page fb.com/PhilippineSportswritersAssociation , the session is also aired on a delayed basis over Sports Radio 918 AM and shared on the Facebook page Sports Radio 918. (PSA pool story)
