BAGUIO CITY , Philippines — A bank manager was found dead with a gunshot to the head in Tuba, Benguet on Tuesday afternoon.
The victim, whose identity was withheld, was found inside a vehicle parked along Kennon Road, between the villages of Camp 3 and Twinpeaks.
The presence of the vehicle longer than expected in the area prompted residents to alert police.
Responding police officers found the victim in the front seat of the vehicle. A handgun was recovered beside the body.
The victim’s wife told police that her husband left home at around 7 p.m. on Monday to attend an awarding ceremony in Manila the following day.
She said her husband’s colleagues called to ask her why the victim did not attend the event and that he could not be reached by phone.
She said she immediately reported her husband missing to the Baguio City police.
Probers said they would review video footage of closed-circuit television cameras installed along the route leading to the site where the body was found.
