MANILA, Philippines — The Court of Appeals has dismissed the bail petition filed by a businessman’s brother, who is accused of murdering his kin.
Alan Dennis Sytin allegedly killed his brother, United Auctioneers Inc. president and CEO Dominic Sytin in 2018.
In his petition, Alan accused Manila courts of grave abuse of discretion in denying his bail, arguing that testimonies made against him by his co-accused, Ryan Rementilla and Edgardo Luib, “cannot be strong evidence” to prove his guilt and showed “inconsistencies.”
Rementilla and Luib had confessed to planning with Alan the murder of his brother in Subic.
The appellate court’s 11th Division upheld the Manila courts’ rulings.
