MANILA, Philippines — Fifty overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) returned to the Philippines from Kuwait on Sunday, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration said.

According to the OWWA, 35 of the repatriated OFWs boarded a Qatar Airways flight while the rest were transported by Philippine Airlines.

They were welcomed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport by representatives of OWWA, Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Manila International Airport Authority’s medical team.

The returning OFWs received financial and medical assistance as well as transportation service for those going home to the provinces.

Since the Middle East crisis erupted, the DMW has been repatriating affected overseas Filipinos.

The DMW said these OFWs would also benefit from the government’s reintegration program.

Among the services offered for the OFWs are job matching, skills training and livelihood assistance.
