MANILA, Philippines — Minimum wage earners and domestic helpers in Cagayan Valley are getting an increase in their daily take-home pay starting Nov. 5.

The National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) said that under a recently approved order, workers in the agriculture and non-agriculture sectors will receive an increase of P20 and P40, respectively, in their daily take-home pay.

The adjustment, as approved by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board, brings to P500 the daily minimum wage rate in Cagayan Valley. The RTWPB also approved an additional P500 in the monthly minimum wage of domestic helpers in the region.

According to the NWPC, the “new monthly minimum wage for domestic workers in all cities and municipalities, regardless of income class in Cagayan Valley, shall be P6,500.”
