MANILA, Philippines — Expanded health care services in Mandaluyong have been launched by the city government, Department of Health and Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth).
The Yaman ng Kalusugan program or Yakap sa Barangay aims to provide consultations and health profiling at accredited Yakap clinics, along with on-site PhilHealth registration, member data updating and ID issuance.
Senior citizens, persons with disabilities, solo parents and beneficiaries of the conditional cash transfer Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program attended the launch at the city hall.
Participants received free medical services, including laboratory tests, complete blood count, chest X-ray, dental consultation and eye checkup, as well as oral health kits and medicines.
Mayor Menchie Abalos thanked PhilHealth for the initiative.
Formerly known as the Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama or Konsulta program, Yakap offers wider medical services and benefits to Filipino families, PhilHealth said.
