Meanwhile, in Laguna, a police lieutenant is being investigated for allegedly falsifying his credentials in order to enter the Philippine National Police (PNP).
The probe stemmed from a complaint filed by the officer’s partner before the National Police Commission-Calabarzon.
Napolcom-Calabarzon chief Owen de Luna withheld the identity of the officer pending results of the investigation.
“The officer will be summoned by the Napolcom-Calabarzon to explain. A team of investigators has started looking into the complaint,” De Luna told The STAR over the weekend.
The complainant said the officer’s transcript of records and diploma are fake.
The documents were reportedly obtained in Manila in exchange for a fee.
The officer, who completed a degree in Computer Science in 2012, is reportedly assigned at the National Support Unit of the Calabarzon police.
De Luna said probers are examining and verifying the officer’s transcipt of records and diploma and other documents he submitted to the PNP. — Ed Amoroso
