2 bettors share P8.9 million lotto prize

MANILA, Philippines — Two bettors – one in San Luis, Batangas and the other in Gen. Trias City, Cavite – will share the P8.91-million Mega Lotto 6/45 jackpot after betting on the winning combination in Wednesday’s draw.
Melquiades Robles, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) general manager, said the winning lotto tickets, which carried the combination 07-20-40-13-11-08, were bought from a lotto outlet in Barangay Prinza in Gen. Trias, Cavite and in Barangay Poblacion, San Luis town in Batangas.
Robles said there were also 34 bettors who correctly guessed five of the six-digit winning combination. Each can claim the second prize of P32,000.
Lotto winnings of more than P10,000 are subject to a 20-percent tax under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion Act.
The Mega Lotto 6/45 is drawn every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
