MANILA, Philippines — Police confiscated 8.18 kilos of marijuana valued at P1.12 million in two law enforcement operations in Navotas and Taguig since Tuesday night.
In Navotas, high-value suspect John Leiym Alfaro, 20, was apprehended in a sting along Tanigue street in Barangay North Bay Boulevard South Dagat-Dagatan at 11:24 p.m., National Capital Region Police Office director Maj. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said in a message on Viber.
The suspect was caught with 4.65 kilos of marijuana valued at P558,600.
Meanwhile, around 3.52 kilos of marijuana with a street value of P563,600 were seized from a 24-year-old man in Taguig yesterday.
Carlito Ocba was driving his motorcycle when police pulled him over for a routine inspection along J.P. Rizal Extension in Barangay Cembo at around 3 a.m.
Nartatez said Ocba attempted to escape, but he fell to the ground after hitting a road signage. Police then discovered he was carrying bricks of marijuana.
